In the early 1990s, there emerges the trend of electronic trading of bulk goods. In the year 2000, under the instruction of the Ministry of Chemical Industry, the predecessor of Shanghai Agricultural Products E-Business Co. Ltd——Shanghai Zhonghao Chemical Internet Trading Center was founded in Shanghai. However, under the Central Government’s instruction that all the non-core business should be split out of the Central enterprises, Shanghai Zhonghao Chemical Internet Trading Center was privatized which became the Shanghai Agricultural Products E-Business Co. Ltd. Now Shanghai Agricultural Products E-Business Co. Ltd is mainly based on the electronic trading of agricultural products. In the year 2010, it has more than 600 subsidiaries in China and its trading volume has exceeded 150 billion RMB (25 billion US dollars). In the near future, Shanghai Agricultural Products E-Business Co. Ltd will devote to be the top agricultural products trading center in China!
